  • Calculating effects of gear surface modification on transmission, error, noise and stress

    Michael is a graduate of mathematics and applied mechanics from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh. He carried out his PhD studies in transmission errors in worm gears under Professor Bob Munro at the University of Huddersfield. After graduating in 1998, Michael joined Holroyd Machine Tools and Rotors, working on research and development projects aimed at more effective gear production. He also acted as company representative at various events, including the British Gear Association and American Gear Manufacturers Association. He later worked at Reishauer AG, Switzerland, creating machine tool systems in order to compensate for errors in the machining process. Michael has also worked at KISSsoft AG in Switzerland, where he developed and implemented software tools for the gear industry.

     

    Working with David Palmer, Michael helped establish Dontyne Systems in 2006 and currently holds the position of co-director. In addition to assuming responsibility for the general management of the company, he is also in charge of software development products for gear design, analysis and manufacture.
