Stewart Robinson is a safety systems specialist for Pilz Automation Technology in the UK. His duties include advising clients on the safe use of machinery as well as presenting training courses on safety-related standards such as BS EN IEC 61508, BS EN IEC 62061 and EN ISO 13849. Stewart also provides support and training on the Pilz Programmable Safety System (PSS) and SafetyBUS p safe fieldbus system. In this role he has worked on a number of prestigious projects in the automotive sector as well as helping customers implement programmable safety-related control systems for burner management and paper converting machinery, and numerous other diverse applications. Stewart has been programming PLCs since they first became available on the market and he also has broad experience with industrial field buses. Other responsibilities he has had in the past include commissioning and servicing machines in the UK and overseas, and managing a team of multi-disciplined engineers operating worldwide. Stewart is an active member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology and the Institute of Measurement and Control.
